Thriving People and Communities Programme - Goal 2
This programme will focus on connecting local people to the social and economic opportunities that are becoming available, particularly from the major capital developments that are taking place within and close to the Zone.
Goal 2 is delivered in partnership with the Learning and Skills Council, Jobcentre Plus, Birmingham City Council and Solihull MBC
Principal Actions
- supporting the development of high quality learning centres
- reducing the number of people without qualifications (age 25 - 55)
- increasing the number of people with NVQ3 and NVQ3+ qualifications (age 25 - 55)
- reducing barriers to employment
- improving access to jobs
- growing aspirations and attainment
- developing community / voluntary sector based pathways to training and employment
