The Garage provides a full service to West Midlands artists

A grant of £78,000 from the East Birmingham North Solihull (EBNS) Regeneration Zone, which is funded by Advantage West Midlands, has been awarded to VIVID in Digbeth, Birmingham.

Dedicated to the development of contemporary media art, VIVID supports and commissions research, new work, artists' residencies, events and publications.

The grant from EBNS will fund two mobile production ?pods?, which will be multi-purpose, wireless and will have sound insulated walls and ceilings. The pods can be easily folded away to make room for exhibition space.

In June last year, VIVID launched a new space in a former garage in Digbeth to accommodate the production and exhibition of media arts, bringing together technical resources, support services and presentation facilities in a unique environment.

3,000 square feet of ground floor space will also be upgraded for gallery exhibition and showcase events including the installation of exhibition lighting, digital projectors, and an interlocking seating system to support educational events.
