Sustainable Eastside ? Project Extension Funding Agreed
Sustainable Eastside, a project funded by ebns, has successfully encouraged developers moving into Eastside to use ?green building technology? to enhance the environment and preserve resources. This involves encouraging environmental considerations such as: use of recycled and renewable materials and protection of existing trees in the area. To continue its success, the project has received an extension of funding.
The extension of £24, 000 will be used to fund an advisor to project manage the implementation of a large capital scheme for installation of demonstration green roofs for biodiversity, water management and energy benefit research in Eastside.
This will continue to raise awareness of the environmental benefits and business opportunities arising from the inclusion of environmental technologies in the built environment.
The request for an extension of funding for a Sustainable Eastside project has been agreed by Advantage West Midlands. This extension of funding will extend the Sustainable Eastside approach to the regeneration of the Zone with benefits to the whole region in terms of capacity building and publication of sustainability materials.
